Swat:- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Muazzam Ja Ansari on Thursday said that after the change in Afghan situation, security challenges in entire KP have been increased. He said that KP Police was determined and equipped to cope with any un-thwarted situation.
Talking to media at Regional Police Office here at Saidu Sharif, Swat on Thursday The IGP said that law and order situation would be maintained at any cost, for the larger interest of the province.
” We have adopted modern methods of policing, and are using modern technology for the surveillance and monitoring. The police department on the directives of the provincial government, are installing CCTV cameras on the entrance and exit points of all the districts”, he said, adding that for the promotion of tourism in the scenic valleys, tourist police have been deployed.
Regional Police Officer, Abdul Ghafoor Afridi, Commissioner Malakand Division, Zaheer ul Islam along with other senior officials were also present on this occasion.
” KP Police have rendered valuable sacrifices for the eradication of terrorism and maintaining peace in the region. Some culprits were trying to sabotage the tourism in the scenic Swat Valley; however, those criminals have been arrested, and are being prosecuted in the courts”, The IGP added that, no one would be allowed to create law and order situation in entire KP.
He added that new police station would be established in far flung areas of Tehsil Matta and Kalam of the district, for the benefit of the area.
Earlier the IGP was briefed by regional Police Office (RPO) Abdul Ghafoor Afridi about the security situation in entire Malakand Region. The briefing was also attended by all District police officers of Malakand Division. IGP also visited Matta Police Station, and checked the record of the police station.
