Moscow: Russian authorities claimed on Saturday that the Ukrainian Air Force has attacked its Black Sea Fleet using several unmanned drones.

According to Russian authorities, the Ukrainian Air Force unleashed an air attack at 04:20 local time and involved nine aerial and seven marine drones which managed to damage one of its warships. Ukraine has not yet acknowledged the incident.

According to BBC, Mikhail Razvozhaev, the Russian-installed governor of the city, said Russia’s navy had repelled the attack. The strikes were the “most massive” since Russian troops first entered Ukraine in February, Russian state media quoted the governor as saying.

He said that all unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) had been shot down and no “civilian infrastructure” had been damaged. One vessel sustained minor damage, the Ministry of Defence said.

Sevastopol is the largest city in Crimea, which was annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014.
